Matchroom’s heading back to Sheffield’s Utilita Arena for a belter of a night on Saturday, March 23. Sheffield’s own Dalton Smith, with a clean sheet of 15 wins, is taking a step up to tangle with the States’ Jose Zepeda, a bloke who’s had a go at the world title thrice. Over in the WBO Welterweight division, Derby’s Sandy Ryan is defending her title against Terri Harper from Denaby Main, setting the stage for a top-notch local scrap.

Smith, also known as ‘Thunder’ without using his actual nickname, made quite the splash by knocking Sam Maxwell into next week with a single punch in their last Sheffield rendezvous, bagging the Commonwealth Super-Lightweight Title to go with his British one.

Zepeda, hailing from sunny California, has had his fair share of tilts at the top spot in the Super-Lightweight division but hasn’t quite hit the jackpot. His last visit to the UK ended in a bit of a pickle with a dislocated shoulder against Terry Flanagan.

Terri Harper, straight from Denaby Main, is gearing up to throw punches in Sheffield this Saturday, aiming to clinch a world title in her third weight division. She’s squaring up against Derby’s own Sandy Ryan, the current boss of the WBO Welterweight division, in a massive clash that’s got the British Isles on the edge of their seats, with the whole scrap streaming live on DAZN.

Harper, who’s got the WBA Super-Welterweight crown on her mantle, is chomping at the bit to scale the heights once more, especially with the local crowd roaring behind her after a standoff with the legendary Cecilia Braekhus ended all square. “Chasing a third world crown on my own turf? It’s what I’ve been dreaming of,” Harper said, all fired up about her tussle with Ryan.

This showdown’s loaded with meaning for both fighters. Harper’s eyeing it as her ticket back to the big leagues, while Ryan, fresh from shaking up her camp and setting up shop in Vegas, brings a fresh challenge to the table. “Now’s the perfect moment to take on Sandy,” Harper noted, tipping her hat to Ryan’s commitment but spotting a chance in her opponent’s new setup.

With a nod to Ryan’s solid skills and background with Team GB, Harper’s not underestimating her rival but is betting big on her own prep and game plan. Bracing for a fierce showdown, Harper’s set on pulling out all the stops, convinced that hitting her stride is her ticket to victory. “I’m ready to take Sandy into uncharted waters,” Harper vowed, setting her sights on that sweet “And The New” announcement.

Ryan, the pride of Derby with a tally of 6-1-1 and 2 KOs, is stepping into the ring fired up to keep her title after a split decision draw with Jessica McCaskill last time out ruffled some feathers. Harper, sporting the WBA Super-Welterweight title and hailing from Denaby Main, ramps up the stakes, making this a clash you don’t want to miss in the UK boxing scene.

Initially eyed for Harper’s division, the fight’s now all about Ryan defending her crown. She’s all in, giving Harper her due but backing herself all the way, primed and ready after an overhaul of her team. Now with Brian Peters steering the ship and Emanuel ‘Flick’ Savoy in her corner in Las Vegas, Ryan’s never been more dialed in, promising a ring performance that’ll have fans talking.

And the night’s just warming up with Ryan and Harper. We’re also treated to Dalton Smith facing off against Jose Zepeda for the WBC Silver strap, Ishmael Davis and Troy Williamson scrapping for a shot at the British Super-Welterweight title, and a whole lineup that’s set to deliver a knockout evening for fight fans.

But it’s not all about Harper and Ryan in Sheffield; the night’s packed with action. We’ve got Dalton Smith stepping up against Jose Zepeda for the WBC Silver bling, Ishmael Davis and Troy Williamson duking it out for a shot at the British Super-Welterweight title, Campbell Hatton gunning for his first belt against James Flint, and a bunch more bouts that’ll have fans glued to their seats.
