H.E. Advisor Turki Alalshikh, the big boss of the General Entertainment Authority, is all excited to present ‘Knockout Chaos’. The main event? None other than Anthony Joshua, the ex-world heavyweight champ, throwing down in a crossover boxing fight against MMA’s own mountain of muscle, Francis Ngannou on Friday, 8th March at Riyadh’s Kingdom Arena.

Joshua, previously the WBA, IBF, and WBO World Champion, wrapped up a year of fistic fireworks on 23rd December 2023, toppling Otto Wallin in five rounds at Riyadh’s ‘Day of Reckoning’. That scrap catapulted him back to the heavyweight elite.

Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight kingpin, took a swing at boxing in the ‘Battle of the Baddest’ against Tyson Fury. That clash, kicking off Riyadh Season on 28th October 2023, exploded in the third round with Ngannou decking Fury with a left hook to the temple.

After earning nods and winks from boxing fans worldwide, Ngannou is back for his second pro fight, this time squaring off against another planet-shaker in Joshua.

Joshua chimes in, laser-focused, “I’m all hyped up for Riyadh. Big thanks to Saudi Arabia for their hearty embrace of me and the sweet science.”

Ngannou, confident as ever, states, “I’ve been doubted, I’ve proved them wrong. AJ, I’m a whole different animal. Riyadh, get ready for a showdown that won’t need judges to decide.”

The undercard:  Chinese giant Zhilei Zhang will be defending his WBO Interim world championship against New Zealand’s Joseph Parker. Rey Vargas, the Mexican WBC World Champion, defends his title against Liverpool’s Nick Ball. And the lightweight tussle? Mark Chamberlain from England goes toe-to-toe with Welshman Gavin Gwynne.

Also in Riyadh, Australian heavyweight Justis Huni, Cruiserweight Roman Fury, British Super-Welterweight Jack McGann, and Saudi Arabian Super-Lightweight Ziyad Almaayouf will be showing their stuff.
