Paul vs. Diaz - ESPN+ , PPV.com, DAZN, FITE - August 5 - 8 pm ET

Sitting center stage is Jake “The Problem Child” Paul. This international sensation, hailing from Cleveland, is itching for a chance at redemption. Following a split decision loss to Tommy Fury, he seeks to showcase his boxing acumen and quash critics with a knockout victory. The anticipation surrounding Paul’s performance is palpable as he prepares to take on an opponent of Diaz’s stature.

Counterbalancing the boxing ring, MMA titan Nate Diaz readies for his boxing debut. The golden boy of California’s 209 area code, Diaz emerges as the most sought-after free agent in the annals of combat sports history. His preeminent standing stems from sparring sessions with the unbeaten Hall of Fame boxer, Andre Ward, and a résumé boasting 22 MMA victories. Not least among these is his awe-inspiring decision win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196.

Yet, this is not a two-man show. The PPV event unfurls a series of great undercards. The co-main event promises to be a fierce affair as undisputed featherweight world champion, Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano, pits her wits against former WBO featherweight titleholder, Heather “The Heat” Hardy, in a ten-round 126 lb duel.

Meanwhile, MMA star Chris Avila and Jeremy “Lil Heathen” Stephens will go toe-to-toe in an eight-round clash at 168 lbs, promising a dynamic mix of skill, tenacity, and the raw power that has become their trademark.

The action doesn’t stop there. H2O Sylve, an unbeaten lightweight contender, will cross gloves with seasoned veteran William “Baby Face” Dos Santos Silva in a riveting eight-round contest at 135 lbs. This is a chance for Sylve to prove his mettle against an experienced adversary.

Continuing the high-octane action, Shadasia Green, the mandatory challenger for the undisputed super middleweight title, takes on Olivia Curry, riding a five-win wave, in a 10-round bout at 168 lbs. And rounding off the action is an eight-round welterweight showdown between former WBC Continental Americas welterweight champion Alan Sanchez and Angel Beltran Villa, who sports an impressive 17-1 record.

The odds-makers are tilting the scales toward our Problem Child, marking him with -360 odds. In layman’s terms, they’re giving Jake a hefty 78% chance of having his hand raised in victory. And let’s not forget, Jake’s no stranger to UFC warriors; this will be his fourth dance with a UFC vet, having KO’d Ben Askren and triumphed twice over Tyron Woodley in the past.

Now, for the fans of the underdog (you brave souls, you), Diaz’s odds are sitting pretty at +350. The likelihood of a draw is distant at +1500. Even more interesting? Diaz’s odds to win via KO/TKO/DQ or decision stand at +600 and +800, respectively. It’s a classic tale of MMA skills versus boxing finesse, and a great chance to see whether an octagon champ can roll with the punches in the squared circle.

Taking a peek at the round-by-round betting, it seems  experts predict Jake is most likely to conquer in either round 5 or 6, with odds positioned at +510. Jake’s also seen as the favorite to win by KO/TKO/DQ at -135, with a +350 chance of him snagging the win after all eight rounds have been fought.

Leon Blackman, the voice of OddsChecker, had this to say: “Jake Paul is all set to don the boxing gloves again this weekend, burning to erase the memories of his first defeat to Tommy Fury. He’s aiming to continue his successful run against UFC stars, with the legendary Nate Diaz as his next opponent. The faith in Jake’s victory is strong, with odds favoring him at -135 and Diaz at +350. Even our bettors are siding with the Problem Child, with 86% of bets placed on him. And it seems many are hoping for a knockout, with 62% of the ‘Method of Victory’ bets predicting Jake to win by KO/TKO/DQ.”
