Fierro vs. Zammaripa – DAZN – Sept. 15 – 6 pm ET

Angel Fierro is on the pursuit of Lightweight World champions and is eager to display his ability to challenge the reigning champs. He’s gearing up to defend his WBO NABO title versus Brayan Zamarripa this Friday night (September 15) at Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutierrez Moreno in Tijuana, Mexico, with global streaming live on DAZN.

Currently ranked #4 by the WBO, Fierro (21-1-2, 17 KOs) enjoys the advantage of fighting in his hometown during the Mexican Independence weekend, aiming to further his reputation for captivating fights.

In his last fight, ‘Tashiro’ displayed outstanding skill with numerous knockdowns, eventually achieving a seventh-round stoppage win over Eduardo Estela in Culiacan. This marked his fifth KO in recent six fights, a streak he intends to extend against Zamarripa (13-1, 4 KOs), a fighter from Baja California who’s enjoyed ten consecutive victories after his single loss in 2016.

“I’m set on securing a win this Friday, followed by my pursuit of a World title,” expressed Fierro. “This has been my ambition since childhood, a commitment I made to my parents and daughter.”

Returning to Tijuana after four years fills him with anticipation. He’s ready for the fifth defense of his title in front of his supporters. Knowing the stakes, he feels prepared and resilient. “Anticipating a tough fight, but confident in our team’s preparation,” he shared.

Zamarripa conveyed his readiness, “Training rigorously for this. Aware of Fierro’s reputation, but undeterred. Eager to demonstrate my skills.”

Acknowledging the occasion of Mexican Independence, he added, “Uncertain of my strategy against him, but confident in a win. After this, our focus shifts to joining the top-contender ranks.”

The evening in Tijuana promises a series of thrilling fights. Erika Cruz (15-2, 3 KOs) will be back after her previous fight with Amanda Serrano in February. She’ll challenge Melissa Odessa Parker (6-1, 2 KOs) for the WBA Continental Americas Super-Bantamweight title. Upcoming star, Kevin Barron Crespo (12-0, 9 KOs), will experience a ten-round fight for the first time, facing Christian Olivo Barreda (20-1-1, 7 KOs). Skye Nicolson (7-0) seeks to move closer to a World title, fighting Sabrina Maribel Perez (18-1-1, 2 KOs) for the interim WBC World Featherweight title. Lastly, young Heavyweight Federico Pacheco (4-0, 3 KOs) will start the event on DAZN against Carlos Cardenas (4-0, 3 KOs).

Eddie Hearn: “This fight card in Mexico is straight fire! Headliner Angel Fierro is going all in for that World Lightweight title shot. We’ve also got Skye Nicolson in an interim World title bout and Erika Cruz making her epic return. This is the place to be for fight fans!”

Angel Fierro: “This next bout is huge for me. Brayan’s not just any opponent; the guy’s a shark. But I’m not backing down. It’s all going down on Mexican Independence weekend, and I’m pumped to bring it!”

Brayan Zamarripa: “Friday night is showtime! I’m going to give Tijuana something to talk about. Angel’s good, no doubt, but I’ve been grinding for this my whole life. Time to make it count.”

Erika Cruz: “September 15 is a big deal, and I’m planning to make it a night to remember. I’m looking for a rematch with Amanda Serrano down the line, but first things first. Melissa, you better be ready for war!”

Melissa Oddessa Parker: “Super stoked to be on this card against a fighter like Erika. Amateur days are over; now it’s time to show I belong in the big leagues.”

Kevin Barron Crespo: “I’m bringing the heat on Friday night! Been grinding in the gym, and I can’t wait to show what I’ve got. Expect fireworks!”

Christian Olivi Barreda: “Being part of this lineup is massive! I’m all set and super chilled. Given it’s Mexican Independence Day weekend, expect an all-out brawl!”

Sabrina Maribel Perez: “I’m seizing this opportunity with both hands. After 20 years in the sport, I’m not slowing down. Friday is going to be lit!”

Skye Nicolson: “I’ve been asking for a fight like this. It’s time to show what I’ve got. My team and I are ready to bring the heat, and trust me, you’re going to want to see this.”

Federico Pacheco Jr.: “Big thanks to Matchroom for putting me back in the spotlight. My opponent’s no joke, but neither am I. I’m stoked for Friday and future bouts.”

Carlos Cardenas: “This is a big moment; we’re both unbeaten, and we’re both coming for that win. I’m pumped and ready to bring my A-game.”
