Conlan vs. Gill - DAZN - December 2 - 2 pm ET

Conlan vs. Gill – DAZN – December 2 – 2 pm ET

The boxing ring of the SSE Arena Belfast will once again feel the stomping of Michael Conlan, the two-time Featherweight World Title contender. On December 2, he’s squaring up against Jordan Gill, the ex-European and Commonwealth champ, and it’s all going live worldwide on DAZN.

Conlan’s record (27-2-1, 8 KOs) speaks for itself. But let’s rewind to May, where he felt the fury of Mexico’s IBF Featherweight World Champion, Luis Alberto Lopez, in five fiery rounds. That was a second World Title slip for Conlan, right after his thrilling fight with Leigh Wood in 2022.

Now, Conlan’s cooking up something special. He’s joined forces with Pedro Diaz, the Cuban-American trainer, for this exciting comeback. Shifting gears to Super-Featherweight, Conlan’s eyes are firmly set on future World Title triumphs.

Jordan Gill (27-2-1, 8 KOs) isn’t any less hungry for glory. After a fourth-round halt by Spain’s two-weight World Champion, Kiko Martinez, in 2022, Gill wants to turn the tables and become the talk of World Title news by showing the Belfast hero who’s boss.

But the night’s not all about the main event. The supporting fights promise fireworks. Belfast Super-Welterweight sensation Caoimhin Agyarko (13-0, 7 KOs) is gearing up for a significant face-off with Darlington’s ex-British Champ, Troy Williamson (20-1-1, 14 KOs). Then, get ready for a 147lbs Belfast-exclusive clash between Tyrone McKenna (23-3-1, 6 KOs) and Lewis Crocker (17-0, 10 KOs). Not to mention, Sean McComb (17-1, 5 KOs) is prepped to give Liverpool’s ex-British and Commonwealth Champ, Sam Maxwell (17-2, 11 KOs), a run for his money over ten rounds.

Conlan’s stoked, “The SSE Arena Belfast and Matchroom Boxing always bring back memories. With my new crew, we’re out to make more. Jordan’s good, but December 2 is all about proving where I stand.”

Gill’s equally amped, “Facing Mick? Absolute thrill! Both of us are craving those World Titles. Just picture Belfast’s excitement; I’m going to rock that ring!”

Eddie Hearn, the man at the helm of Matchroom Sport, shares the enthusiasm, “Belfast’s legendary boxing vibes are calling us after 2017! With Conlan aiming to redeem himself against Gill at Super-Featherweight, and backed by a killer line-up of fights, DAZN’s viewers are in for a treat.”

Michael Conlan:

“Loads of reasons why I’m sure I’ll send him packing. He’s missing that spark, seems to give up too easily. That’s the long and short of it.

“I’m not one to dwell on sparring tales. Sparring’s just practice, after all. Stuff happens.

“But, for a confidence boost? Oh, I’ve seen enough in his recent performances and our past sparring to say, ‘Yep, I get it. I know my strategy.’

“When it comes to Saturday night, he can replay our sparring sessions in his head all he wants – I bet that’s his favorite pastime. But me? I’m laser-focused on one thing: stepping into that ring and claiming victory.”

Jordan Gill:

“I’m on cloud nine, no weight on my shoulders. This is an incredible chance for me to rise to the occasion. I’m pumped and primed to go. Stronger and fitter than ever. Tomorrow, I won’t be the skinny guy I was at 126lbs. Should’ve bumped up a division ages ago. Remember the Guerfi fight? Proved I’m no pushover. Ready to do it again if I must. This is set to be an epic fight. His last fight with Leigh was the talk of the town, and I expect this one to be just as memorable. Super psyched for Saturday. He’s got all the pressure, being the big name and all. I’m not just some random opponent, though.”

Tyrone McKenna:

“I reckon he’s feeling the heat, what with the hype around a big fight like this. I’ve been in the thick of it before – Prograis, Catterall, names like that. I thrive in this atmosphere. This is my playground. I live for this fight week excitement. Feeding off the electric energy in Belfast, especially with this being a rare Belfast vs. Belfast showdown. It’s been decades since the last one. The whole city’s abuzz – barber shops, streets, malls, everyone’s talking about this fight. My edge? Experience. Lewis is unbeaten, sure, but he’s not faced anyone of note yet.”

Lewis Crocker:

“Beating Tyrone opens big doors for me, especially with what’s ahead next year. With DAZN and the rarity of a Belfast vs. Belfast fight of this scale, I can’t wait. Tyrone’s solid, really tough. Experienced too, as he loves to remind everyone. I’m eager to dazzle the crowd and show them what I’m made of.”
