Former World Champion Angel Acosta Ready to Face Undefeated Angelino Cordova in Flyweight Showdown

On Thursday, April 6, Golden Boy Fight Night LIVE on DAZN will bring you an exciting flyweight clash between former world champion Angel “Tito” Acosta (23-3, 22 KOs) of San Juan, Puerto Rico and undefeated Angelino “Huracán” Cordova (17-0-1, 12 KOs) of Caracas, Venezuela. The 12-round main event will take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California and will be streamed live worldwide on DAZN at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET.

Acosta is a hard-hitting Puerto Rican fighter who likes to pressure his opponents and finish them with his power. He trains with renowned coach Joel Diaz in the Coachella Valley and is coming off a spectacular first-round knockout win at Fantasy Springs in May 2022. Acosta is eager to get back in the ring and prove himself as one of the best flyweights in the world.

“I’m working hard in the gym here in Indio with Joel Diaz. Cordova is a great fighter who comes forward, I don’t know much about him but I’ll be ready for him,” said Acosta. “I’m very happy and motivated for this fight because it puts me close to an opportunity for the world championship. On April 6 I will be ready to put on a show for Puerto Rico and my family.”

Cordova is a rising star from Venezuela who has an unbeaten record and a solid knockout ratio. He trains in New York and is confident that he can upset Acosta and make a statement in the flyweight division. Cordova respects Acosta’s skills and power but is not intimidated by them.

“It’s a great opportunity for my career,” said Cordova. “I feel really excited and happy with this fight. There’s going to be fireworks inside that ring. Tito Acosta is a great champion and I have a lot of respect for him but it will be a war. I’m training in NY and will be ready to face the best Acosta in April.”
